A RENDEZVOUS WITH STREET LAMP

Night crept slowly

Engulfing day bit by bit

Gentle breeze brings sweet aroma

I stroll on to known lanes

Escorted by twilighting stars and moon

I began my adventurous journey

I end one path and begin another.

I approach him unknowingly

He starts flickering to get noticed.

Glowers bright at my sight

Showing his delight

Dim’s his brightness as if someone suched his light.

Colours drain from his face

As I pace

Away from him.

I change my path and move towards him

Like someone cast a spell on my feet.

He stares at me ,

With piercing bright eyes.

We start sharing our unsaid feelings.

Everything seems to be worthless.

Time encroaches slowly

And

I bid him farewell

With promises of meeting again.

I woke up from my warm bed

Amusing about my rendezvous

With

STREET LIGHT.
